ITINERARY – 7 DAYS AT A GLANCE

DAY 1 – Starting in Merano: Off-Roading & Mountain Hut Atmosphere

The journey begins in Merano, where all participants meet, the vehicles are checked and the guides give a short briefing. Then you set off into the surrounding mountains of South Tyrol to experience your first gravel tracks, easy off-road sections and sweeping panoramas. The group gathers for sundowners at an alpine hut before winding down the first evening in a cozy mountain lodge.

DAY 2 – Alpine Crossing & Gold Panning in Piedmont

The route takes you from South Tyrol along spectacular alpine off-road trails toward Piedmont. In the afternoon, you’ll reach a remote river area with a rich gold-mining history. An experienced guide will teach you the basics of gold panning, with all equipment provided.

In the evening, enjoy a shared outdoor dinner by the river and spend the night under the open sky.

DAY 3 – A Taste of Piedmont: Vineyards & Country House

The day begins with a relaxing drive through the rolling Barolo region. Small off-road trails wind through chestnut groves and between the vines. At a family-run winery, you’ll discover the region through its wines: a cellar tour, tasting and traditional Piedmontese dinner. You’ll stay in style at a country house right at the winery.

DAY 4 – Drive on to Tuscany: Val d’Orcia

The route continues south, passing Bologna and heading into the heart of Tuscany. After a long panoramic drive, you’ll reach Val d’Orcia—one of Italy’s most iconic landscapes. Cypress-lined roads, rolling hills and wide-open fields accompany you along quiet country lanes and easy off-road trails. The day ends at a rustic agriturismo, nestled among olive groves and vineyards.

DAY 5 – Hot Springs & Outdoor Adventures Under the Stars

On day five, you’ll head to the hot springs of Saturnia. The route takes you along quiet gravel roads and hidden country lanes—perfect for an off-road feel without the rough terrain. In Saturnia, there’s time to bathe in the steaming natural pools before heading to the outdoor camp in Maremma. There, you’ll experience one of the most memorable moments of the trip: sunset, a campfire and a peaceful night beneath the stars.

DAY 6 – Montaione: Truffle Hunting & Pasta Making

From Saturnia, head north to the forests around Montaione. A local truffle hunter and his dog will guide you through the terrain—an authentic experience that immerses you in Tuscan culture. You’ll then prepare the truffles you find together in a small kitchen, turning them into homemade pasta. Spend the night in comfort at a Tuscan country house.

DAY 7 – Naples Finale: Coast & the World’s Best Pizza

The final leg follows a long, scenic route towards southern Italy. Coastal roads, Mediterranean landscapes and the approach to Mount Vesuvius make for a fitting finale. On arrival in Naples, the tour ends with a group visit to the legendary Pizzeria Brandi, birthplace of Pizza Margherita—a perfect finish blending food, culture and urban lifestyle. The trip officially ends after the meal.
